A classic example of a German pilsner. Located in the moated German town of Jever in the German Friesland, the brewery has been producing this eviscerating bitter beer since 1848. Weighing at a modest 4.9% Alcohol, Jever is produced with pale malt and is hopped with Hallertau and Tettnang varietals. The beer’s bitter profile makes it a refreshing foil to shellfish, particularly Maryland Blue crabs.
