G.D. Vajra Langhe Rosso
The wines of G.D. Vajra embody everything Swigg is about-Beautifully satisfying wines, ethically produced and affordably priced. Known for their prized vineyard holdings in Barolo, which include Bricco Del Viole, Fossati and Coste de Vergne, to name a few, the Vajra family continues to produce top quality wine throughout their entire range of wines.
Their modest Langhe Rosso is no exception. A blend of Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Barbera, Albarossa and Fresia, the bottling in the words of Gusippe Vajra, is meant to be an introductory wine for the region of Piedmont. The wine is always a crowd pleaser, jumping from the glass with crushed red fruit and black spice notes.
“Aldo and Milena Vajra are among the quietest and most introspective of Piedmont’s top echelon growers. It is the wines that do the talking here, and they do that ever so eloquently. The estate’s continued focus on excellence throughout their entire range comes through in spades.”-WA
